Review for Scandinavian Living Center

She loves the food and says how happy she is there every time I talk to her. Mom loves the community and enjoys the social aspect immensely. The cultural center brings in so many performers, art exhibits and people of all ages. With 40 rooms, the home is very cozy and like a big family. The staff love the residents and are always seeking ways to engage them in activities.

Small community with friendly staff

It is a small community (only about 35 residents) so it's easy for everyone to get to know everyone. Also easy for the staff to get to know each of the residents very well. Their dining experiences very much like eating in a restaurant. Residence go to the dining area and order food off of menu. There is no filling out of weekly food choices, etc. The physical facility is very well-maintained. Just the summer they added an enlarged porch on the front of the building, which will be ideal for warm summer evenings. They also redid much of the landscaping. My sister has been very happy there.

Great community involvement and individualized care.

The services are very personalized for the resident. It is a relatively small facility so they can afford to provide that level of attention. That, the openness to the greater community through hosting cultural events were the reasons we chose SLC. And of course, the minimal entry fee made this much more accessible for her to move in without consulting a lot of her financial resources.

Our families experience

The whole place has a very friendly atmosphere. SLC offers a lot of programs that are open to people who live in the surrounding community, so the residents feel like they are still part of the community. The food is very good. I would recommend Scandinavian Living Center to others.
