Review for Solstice at Plano
Everything is going well with her and Solstice. They were having trouble with the chef. One quit and the new guy was not very popular with staff and residents. I think that has gotten better. The elevator has been out if service for a few weeks and they only have one. Some folks are confined to the 2nd floor until fixed. My mom is pleased overall.

Honestly, I think everything is a five with possibly the exception of number six -the food. I've only had a couple meals there, my father is very happy with it. I would think it's closer to a 4. The staff is terrific, they have a great activities director. At the moment. Cleanliness is good. He's happy living there... I moved him away to assisted living for a while and he begged to go back. The directors are a fairly stable group of people that have worked together a long time. Very unified. The service staff will turn over occasionally. There is a husband and wife team that are on site quite a bit.. The volunteer their time and will do all sorts of helpful things for residents. It's a really nice bridge for an independent living facility. The only negative... And I hope this is a temporary thing is that they only have one elevator. It has had some servicing issues and people have got gotten stuck in it recently. They get them out fairly quickly... And the elevator repair people are out immediately. But it has raised some concerns about an evacuation plan.

Great quality of care for a still independent living place. Staff is 5 plus... awesome!! Food... from what little I've tasted I'd say 3 or 4 depending on the meal. We would recommend the community to other families based on the experience so far.

I WOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! The administration especially the director, [name removed], was the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in my life. She had no empathy for the residents, treated my parents horribly and literally laughed in my face when trying to talk with her about this. We moved my parents to [faciltiy name removed] and it is complete night and day! So much better! I wouldn't put my worst enemy in solstice unless their staff changed!

We’re so happy to have my mom-in-law here! Lots of activities if she wants and a good sized studio which fits her downsizing just fine. The staff and volunteers are awesome. There are visiting doctors we’ve yet to meet but will schedule appointments with tomorrow. So much to do with a move and Solstice has been very accommodating. We feel she’s in good hands.

Facility is overall good. Meets mom's needs. She's happy! Housekeeping has gone downhill. I've notice a smell of urine in one hall which comes from the individual apartments. Hallways should be vacuumed more often. Laundry facilities are favorable. Clean and well kept. Food is deplorable! Mom was served spaghetti with sauce, (no protein), mashed potatoes and a dinner roll! That is not a balanced meal. No fresh salads or vegetables. That's probably my only complaint. (I would like to remain anonymous!) The Home Health Care staff is PHENOMENAL! I have mom in a one time a day visit. They're fabulous and communication is great. Socialization is good. People are very nice. Beauty salon is fabulous! So nice to have something on site! Very affordable too. Grounds are well kept, clean and pretty. Very comfortable. Mom is happy.

Everyone at Solstice Senior Living at Plano has been wonderful. I can't to began to thanks the facility director [name removed] for always checking and walking the facility. The food is excellent, my brother love it. I have tried some of the lunching. It was delicious. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

I need hi-protein, low-carb. Because much of the food is hi-carb, I have chosen to eat most meals elsewhere. I am highly mobile and very involved beyond the Solstice domain, so I haven't participated in activities. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families. As a matter of fact, I have recommended Solstice to others. It is an excellent community.

I don't know the newer staff to be able to comment very well. Most of the people I met early on are not there anymore. That said, everyone I met has been helpful and friendly. There are no options available for special/restricted diets.... My mom has heart issues and has to be careful what she eats. She said there aren't always a lot of "heart healthy" choices and they do not accommodate any kind of special dietary needs...

Everyone at this facility is very helpful and friendly. My Dad is enjoying living here. He has people to talk to, activities if he chooses, and the doctors come to see him in his room. He especially having hot meals to eat.

The facilities are clean, neat, and up-to-date. The grounds are well-kept. Interior community spaces are excellent. This facility is administered nicely. Management does an excellent job of maintaining a refreshing place to live. I highly recommend it.

My only significant issue with the Solstice Senior Living at Plano community, is with their food. I wish they would have a low calorie or healthy choice on the menu. However, based on the experience we have had so far, yes we would recommend them to other families. Great value for what they charge

My brother is a resident at this facility. It's always clean when I visit. The staff is friendly and helpful. My brother says food is okay not excellent, but they're cooking like cafeteria! Of course it won't be perfect. It's a pretty good place. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.

They need to work on maintenance of rented apartments, cleanliness of resident halls, food quality and friendliness of staff. It started off well. Then the Executive Director, Business Manager, Chef, and Maintenance positions all turned over. Right now, I would not recommend.

What sticks out most about Solstice Senior Living at Plano would be the staff - they are friendly, helpful and caring. They truly care about their residents. I do think that they need to be more proactive in getting the new residents involved in things.
