Going under - unpaid bills
We used this service to find The Village at Heritage park in 2020. It has really gone down hill - it's for sale, it has unpaid bills and deferred maintenance - the trash bill has not been paid - trash is piling up and causing pest issues. DO NOT RECOMMEND

A great place for loved ones
When it comes to the activities I wish they had more variety but they have plenty to do. I love the staff at The Village at Heritage Park. They are so caring, friendly and communicative. I love how it is so easy to get the information I need regarding my Dad and they are quick to respond and react to my concerns. They have been beyond amazing in regards to giving my Dad his medications and following through with his care plan. The other residents are amazing too. The residents reach out to me and give me updates on my Dad. It is a real family like environment in regards to how the residents look after one another. My Dad has made a lot of good friends and reports that he really likes The Village. I would highly recommend The Village. Tina in Marketing was amazing to work with and made my Dad's move in to The Village seamless. She has also made a point to check in on my Dad to see how he is doing. So many amazing staff!!!!

Great facility for custom care
The Village at Heritage Park was a great place for her--very caring staff--but her brain cancer was terminal, and she spent the last month of her life on hospice care within the same room, which was made to accommodate her rapid state. The staff, care, food and activities were top-notch. While we were clients, the way payment worked was always somewhat convoluted. There were irrelevant charges that were mistakenly left on future bills. They've recently switched out certain staff, so this is not likely an issue anymore.

Great tour!
The staff were extremely helpful in customizing the tour to fit our needs. They were personable, and willing to work with us regarding cost. They really seem to care about their residents, and the shared areas like the movie theater room, library, and dining hall were excellent. They even had a large print reader machine, which is great for my mom who has macular degeneration. Definitely seriously considering this place!

This a great place to send your loved ones. This has exceeded our expectations. The staff truly care for the residents. The first time that we met the Director and Assistant Director it felt like family here. All the staff know the residents by name, and know the families as well. The dining room is outstanding. The have good food for the residents. It would be nice to have more variety of activities for the residents to participate in. Bingo, movies, and more are some of the activities offered currently by the community. Overall, we couldn't ask for anything better for our loved one.

I would recommend this place
It is a very beautiful facility. There were some things they excelled at and then some things they did not do so well with. He was here for a month and the staff were absolutely wonderful, but one thing that made me upset was that they never got him out of bed until I asked him to. I would recommend them to others looking, the price is really reasonable especially compared to some other places that we looked into.

Highly recommend
They do have diabetic care here which is a big reason why we chose them. They have him as level 1 care right now so we feel the value and care for the money is great. His room is nice, especially the kitchen area it makes it seem more like an apartment. The staff and the residents we interacted have all been very friendly. He is enjoying the activities that they do have at the moment, but they are limited due to covid. Our loved one has not had any complaints, it has been a great experience.

Our experience with The Village so far
We chose this because my mother preferred the location to me and she liked the modern, up to date look of the house, it is a very nice layout. Also the size of the closet is huge, it is almost like another room. My mother has not been able to experience the meals or activities due to covid. They are really expansive for what they offer. I would recommend as long as you can afford it.

Great Community
My sister is having a difficult time. I am very disappointed in the lack of activities. The food is excellent and the chef is amazing. I like how you order off a menu. There is a lack of communication between the community staff and the family. I would like more updates. I am the liaison between the community and the doctors, my sister's medications are being adjusted and I am not getting information. I have a nurse that I usually talk with but I haven't heard from her either. My sister lives in assisted living but is on the border between assisted living and needing memory care. Since moving there, her cognitive impairments have increased. I do give the community a 5 star rating because I do see the other members who live in community completely happy and doing well.

Heritage Park
I often find myself stressing out looking for the best place for my mom when the time comes to transition her to an assisted living facility. Heritage was recommended by my neighbor whose friend lives there. I called for a tour. Noticed staff are attentive, helpful and caring to the residents. My guts tell me the residents are comfortable and feels safe.I met the administrator. She’s accommodating, personable and well informed. The physical plant of the place is super clean, homey, bright and soothing. My mom is starting to deteriorate. I highly consider this facility. I feel this would be the place who will give her the care she deserves.

Tips for evaluating your community options

Safety is a primary concern when seniors and their families look for Assisted Living. To ensure that a community meets your needs and expectations, we recommend that seniors and family members:

  • Tour the location: Touring allows you to speak to current residents and staff, and helps you confirm the accuracy of the community description and photos. Use our touring checklist to help guide your visit.

  • Confirm the availability of required services: Before you commit, make sure that the community offers all the services your senior needs, and that those services can be provided within your budget.

  • Know the California regulations for Assisted Living: Each state has its own laws and inspections processes to ensure seniors reside in a safe environment. Depending on your state, you may even be able to look up inspection reports for the community(ies) you’re considering. Learn more about California regulations for Assisted Living.

A Place for Mom has scored The Village at Heritage Park 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
