My friend was in memory care unit and didn't really participate in activities. Her son handled the cost so uncertain about what the expenses were. I would recommend the facility.

Memory care needs help

Seems like memory care is segregated from the rest of the community. When we moved our loved one in we were told it was one big community. Seems like they cater to IL and AL They have wonderful food and dining for them. Memory are does not get the same quality even though we are paying the most to live there.some management has acted unprofessional to the point of telling some people I’f they don’t like it there then we could get the f out and she would have boxes to help us pack! OMG

Pretty Facility, Needs Help With Staff

I think the facility itself is fine if you were putting a friend or family member in the independent area. If you were thinking about the memory care wing, I would not suggest it. Management is really good about saying hello and how are you. The aides in the memory care unit are unskilled people sitting around on their cell phones. I don't see a lot of interaction between the aides and the residents in the memory care area. If a manager turns a corner, they all jump up. If no manager, they are all sitting around.

Mother's tour

We toured this community with my mom. She did not like the hotel feeling of this community. We met with a nurse and she was able to answer questions. The were aggressive on my mom moving in. We did not see the meals that were offered. The community was clean and maintained. My mother did not find this to be a place for her, but other families might want to check community

A Huge Community

I had a tour here and it was a nice community to visit. It was a very large facility and this would not be a good match for our mom. We were given a tour and treated with respect and kindness.

Indifferent staff, unresponsive management

Facilities look nice, but careless and insufficient staff in the memory care unit. Our mom had bruises on her head and hands from rough handling. One day I visited and was horrified to see her with her head sideways lying on the table drooling, with nobody even trying to help her. Don't put your parents here if they need a higher level of care. Management was also indifferent and sometimes even hostile, especially when it came to disagreements with the hospice care staff.

MAYBE the place for a healthy Independent Senior

The Artisan at Hudson MIGHT be OK for a Healthy Independent Senior...IF they enjoy real-life guesses + mystery (i.e: How many more days will this same salty soup be served? or “What part of our contracted Resident Agreement will be changed this month?”) and IF they not have high blood pressure, diabetes, special diet, or need much attention. The Artisan has not prioritized resident needs over making a profit if you check their Dinner Menu, you can decide if you can afford it. Communication is POOR = On the past THREE holidays a special meal was advertised, then changed literally at the last minute as guests were arriving “because the Executive Chef "didn’t know/wasn’t prepared for it”! When current Management changed our original signed Residency Contract, we were told if we didn’t agree to their revised contract terms we could move…so we did! Some residents couldn't physically make the move, so they are now in a difficult situation with unmet contract terms.

Artisan has a culture that treats tenants like subordinates

I have been a resident at the Artisan in Hudson, MA, since their opening. In that time I have witnessed many physical malfunctions (i.e., heat, lights, etc.) a rent increase of 6%, and an attitude from kitchen staff that they don't have to match the food with the description in the menu. WE ARE PAYING FOR A PRODUCT DESCRIBED IN THE MENU; THEY ARE NOT DOING US A FAVOR BY SUPPLYING IT. If you enjoy being subordinated, this is the right place for you. Tonight I ordered a dish descried in the menu as containing 5 scallops...it came with only 4, and I pointed the discrepancy and was told they did not intend to make good. If they ever do produce the missing item I will tell them what they can do with it.

Great place, mostly for independent living.

My mom has been at Plush Mills for over two years now. As an independent living resident, she loved the socialization and staff. I was able to meet many of her friends and was happy that she was happy. In [date removed], she moved to Personal Care due to progressing dementia. Although she remains very active, Plush Mills has been unwilling to communicate with me to provide the things that had made her happy, even excluding her from seeing her old friends. In trying to understand and work with them, they threatened to ask my mom if I asked them any questions. I think Plush Mills is a fabulous place and a fabulous community but lacks transparency and understanding.

Echo Lake is understaffed and we would not recommend assisted living to other families. There are many areas they could work to improve on. However our loved one has since passed so not sure if their staffing has changed for the better

Think Twice Before Choosing Artisan

If you’re considering placing your loved one with dementia here, RUN! The corporate and management team have no compassion or care for the memory care. Out of sight, out of mind seems to be their motto.

My tour review

I did not like this community. It was so sterile and unfriendly. It was so clean that it looked like no one lived there. We had a great tour and a lovely tour guide that was amazing.

basement Dementia Ward lacks fresh air

Daylesford's Dementia Ward is located in a basement. A highway passes in front of the facility. Management favors a "one size fits all" approach, without exception for individual circumstances.

The ABSOLUTE worst

If you are reading this ...RUN from Daylesford Crossing! This facility is the absolute worst. There is a saying, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig." That is this place ....it looks nice on the outside but the management should be ashamed and to be honest not sure how they still operate with all of the violations and non-compliant activity that goes on every day. We had a loved one there briefly...thank god. They lied, staff and aides are not trained, they gave our loved one the wrong medication and we had complications. Good thing that was all... we got out ASAP. They have people call out all of the time and they do not fill the shift, the residents suffer. Mismanaged, cheap, not compliant, residents suffer. Someone is making a lot of money for terrible care and service. Hopefully word continues to get out because this is not right.

In the dementia ward, in a basement beside a highway, I feared traffic pollution could cause negative health consequences. Management failed to organize certain essential personal services.

Don’t Come Here

Don’t believe what you see in the pictures and fancy descriptive language about Daylesford Crossing. My friends’ elderly parent was left on their own for two nights in [date removed]. Staff delivered the dinner, which was still covered the next day. The resident slept in their clothes & had urine/ feces throughout the apartment the following morning. Can you IMAGINE? We have documentation as well as pictures. A letter was written to the owners and upper management without any response. We asked to find out who was on duty; they said, “We will look into it and get back to you.” No response back. This is not the first incident. Just one of many. They are paying more than [removed] a month for this kind of care, or more accurately lack of care. This resident requires a high level of treatment, pays high additional fees for this care and on a regular basis does not receive it. We consider this abusive behavior by any standards....again~do not be fooled by the chatty tour, falsehoods about care and friendly promises made by management.
