This place does not have continuing care, so you can't stay there as your care needs rise.

My grandma has stayed with magnolia Glen for 8 years and enjoyed it. The place is always clean and well maintained. Unfortunately her health has recently begin to decline and she's had to move into the assisted living area of Magnolia Glen. Firstly, she had to hire movers to move her bed and furniture to another floor. No help offered. Secondly, and most infuriating, she has not felt well enough to go to the dining room. Its a lot of work for her mobility speaking and her breathing is labored. I tell you the God's honest truth, her room is down the hall from the dining room, maybe 40 feet. Magnolia Glen said they'd have to charge additional to bring her meal to her room. This is assisted living and she pays 7 thousand dollars a month to be there. Mind you she's paid that for 8 years. You do the math. Not too far from a million. I find this to be criminal. The woman is towards the end of her life and the lack of care is appauling in my opinion. I'm her youngest grandson and trust me, I'd like to raise hell. My wife and family are in various healthcare positions, and I'm told this is par for the course at most facilities. Disgusts me. Wake up America.

This is a beautiful facility and everyone was friendly. It is for people who have money and want to live like royalty in independent living. There is a food allowance, but it is very expensive to eat there. You might be fearful of eating wondering if your allowance would last the month. I also had the feeling that management might suggest assisted living before other facilities did. This may be unfair, but I have visited this place twice in two years and the concern continues.

My loved one really likes this place. She is very happy with the area it's close to things that are important to her. The dining room is beautiful and meals are pretty good too! The activities calendar is always full! There is always something going on every day! You get to pick and choose what you would like to participate in. the staff is wonderful and easy to talk to. I would recommend this community to anyone looking.

My mother is doing well since her move and she seems to be adjusting well. Everyone that lives there seems very happy and the personnel is wonderful. In my opinion, the bathrooms are just too small. My mother chose the facility and now she is starting to notice that it is a problem. The bathtub is very small and I would not recommend this place to anyone who's loved one needs a large bathroom. Also, there are some things on the checklist that they said they would do that they still have not. Other than that, everyone is very nice and my mother seems pretty happy so far.

I really liked this place. My husband and I took the tour withTom. Our interest was with the memory care community but the follow up was very poor. Just before leaving I asked Tom to have Amanda/Sales Coordinator, to give me a call so we could speak more about our situation. She never called back.. I called back after four/five weeks and at that phone call she said, she was just about to call me. Not sure that is the best way to do business but it's a new place and they were still in process of getting set up. My situation has changed so I no longer need their services for now. I think if ever the Ned comes up again for respite care I would like to make another appointment for a tour and see if anything has improved.

They've got a really friendly staff that has been there a long time. I think their admin executive staff could be more friendly and in touch with the families.

The director was a little pushy. She kind of implied bad things about MBK that owns The Wellington, which I wasn't impressed with. It was an older building and we saw it last so maybe we were a little burnt out. You know, after a while you see so many places that you just say "no more!" It just was older and not impressive to us.

Walked in and canceled tour. Did not feel like it was going to meet interests and had other great options already.

Beautiful property but a little expensive.

VERY clean, beautiful grounds, nice rooms w/ full kitchens, large laundry area, LOTS of variety of activities, food okay, served on demand. Lots of residents (a bit more than she likes). A bit more than she would like to pay ($2900 for 1 bdrm, $3500 for 2 bdrm).

this is a nice facility and friendly people however, the food is TERRIBLE, my mom is a tenant and she cant eat any of it, she said she has complained, along with A LOT of other tenants, to the staff and chef with out any edible improvements

The sales team were very friendly and solicitous until you moved in, only to disappear. The administrative staff were more businesslike and less than supportive. The caregivers were very helpful and kind. Make sure you understand that they can and will decide when you will have to move from assisted living to skilled nursing care, and pay much more, or force you to move to a different facility. My relative had to transfer from assisted living to skilled nursing in the same building (after just four months there) because the assisted living staff were not trained to handle the transfers and that doing so would endanger their safety. That's a reasonable concern, but it begs the question of why they didn't train the staff to care for aging residents and spare them the stress of moving, in the absence of advanced medical needs requiring skilled nursing care. Sunrise Senior Living had no such constraints and cared skillfully and compassionately for my relative in the same assisted living apartment until his death.

Don't go there. Initially sent my mother there to keep her safe when she broke her shoulder She had more falls there than in her entire life--from January to May 2023, when she broke her hip.

My loved one was previously a resident at Emerald Court. The facility is beautiful. The food and the activities were great.

My wife was a difficult patient. Rather than try to skillfully work with her, they responded by over medicating her, which I believe led to her fall and subsequent death.

Our family had an in person tour with Balfour Ann Arbor and this place was other the top. However it did not offer open dining. They had set times for breakfast, lunch & dinner. I think the open dining option offered by [community name removed] is a big selling point. The Balfour had a pool & hot tub. Personally I think that is not a strong selling point. The Balfour is located 1.5 miles from "The Big House" - University of Michigan Football Stadium so lots of traffic. This place catered to highly educated, wealthy clientele. It was a lovely building but geared towards a very small community. Hence the [fee removed] entrance fee.

My mother has been at the Kensington for over a year and a half. The communication, management and management of medications has been extremely poor. I was hopefully that with Kisco's recent transfer of ownership of Kensington, things would get better - but they have gotten worse! Recently their fax machine has been broken for 2 weeks - the primary way in which medical orders are submitted by doctors for residents. The phone systems have been down several times. I have complained and tried to get action - the right things are said, but the issues are not resolved. Do not sent your loved ones here!

This very nicely appointed facility has been challenged due to a lack of staffing. This affects every department but the biggest loss has been our lovely dining room. Because management has not been able to hire servers our dining room sits empty at dinner. Currently our food choices are put in plastic to go containers which sit around for an uncertain amount of time. The food here was good but boxing it to go does not make it better. If you are thinking about this facility, find out BEFORE you sign your contract which amenities are unavailable.
