The journey continues to be a hard one however [name removed] is in a safe environment, his appetite is good, his medications are being managed carefully, he's clean and well dressed, and seems to be comfortable and has adjusted well to his new home! The staff are attentive and genuinely care about all the residents and provide the best care they need and most importantly deserve! The community is undergoing a face lift and recently painted the entire community, replaced the carpeting in the hallways with new flooring, upgraded the resident's bathroom sinks, replaced the locks on resident doors, and upgraded some of the furniture in the main seating area! The community has large windows throughout that provide an abundance of natural sunlight in all areas. [name removed] is doing his very best and enjoys sitting and walking on the paths in the secure and well manicured courtyard with a lovely water fountain. We spend a lot of time in this tranquil area enjoying our time together and having picnics and quiet time! The staff communicates in a timely fashion especially when presented with any of my concerns which are very few. I would recommend Richland Square for those looking for a memory care community for their loved ones!

2 for everything. Terrible experience. Too many improvements to list! We moved my mother from there. It's dirty, unorganized, lazy staff, her clothes went missing, she wasn't kept clean, got a decubitus even though she's ambulatory

Patients seem to be clean. They do a variety of activities with them.

Staff has been caring and supportive and keep her active and involved. They seem to keep activities going and they try to keep the family members moving and out of their rooms.

We had a wonderful team of nurses and administrators. We placed him in Richland for what we thought would be a temporary month after he had a fall. It ended up being the best move we could have made for him. Richland is a special place with special people. I could be at ease knowing that he was with "his crew" as he called the nurses. They are the only reason I could sleep at night over the past year and a half. They danced with him, joked with him, and when I'd look through the window at the door, they were engaging him and giving hugs. Richland truly became his home. When he came to Richland he wasn't walking and within a week he was dancing! [name removed] has been wonderful, keeping the residents engaged and active, and would send me fun photo updates of my dad. [name removed] was a gem during the onboarding process and beyond. All of the nurses were amazing. Their upbeat attitudes kept my dad happy during his final days. I've only met [name removed] briefly as he was new, but he was wonderful and really helped out when we really needed him there at the end.

It's NOT good. I would not recommend. It is t clean and the management is not good. Workers are not all kind to residents. It smells bad.

It's a safe place for a person with memory deficits but, most of the staff seems to just be there for the paycheck, only. few really engage with the residents. I don't know about much the food as I haven't really been there at mealtime. It would be nice to have staff who engages and is more caring with the residents.

What our family likes the most about Richland Square is that the facilities are clean and the rooms are a good size. Our loved one enjoys the food and her care team has been fairly consistent and effective.

The place smells, most of the aides are lazy and hide more than they work. The director don't have a clue, and the head nurse stays in her office and has the personality of a prune.

The staff is friendly. They seem to know the residents by name and speak to them when they see residents walking around. They try to engage everyone in activities. We haven't been there at meal time. My loved one is herself, her room and the facility always seems to be clean. I would probably recommend the facility to others.

We talked to a lot of people in a very short period of time 14 months ago when this decision had to be made rather quickly, and Richland seemed to be the obvious place where there would be a skilled and yet friendly, caring and attentive staff along with everything else mentioned above. We have not been disappointed!

The one thing they need to do is replace the Executive Director at Richland Square. They need someone that cares for the employees and residents. Someone that can motivate everyone to make it a doable workplace. After they let our Mom fall (only being there 12 days) (with 2 attendants in the room) receiving 5 stitches in her forehead, the Executive Director guaranteed us saying, "She WILL fall again" with zero care or concern. As a matter of fact, she said it angrily because we told them the doctors made a comment that our Mom was having congestive heart failure which is why her legs and feet swelled out of her pants and shoes and if the nurse that comes once a week couldn't get to her to remedy the situation, they should have sent her to the hospital. It should not have gone on like that for 2 weeks. That is when she assured us that she ABSOLUTELY WILL fall again. That was the last straw. My mom also had no clean clothes, to the point that they were putting clothes on her from lost and found or whatever. She had urine on all of her clothes, ruined a brand new chair with urine EVERYWHERE, was left in her room stuck in her chair not taking her to breakfast. We never could find her wheelchair that she stayed in every day. They also messed up her meds by giving night meds at 9 in the morning. The list just goes on. This facility needs restructuring and care training. [Name removed], is a GREAT saleswoman and will set the place up for the appointments to seem wonderful and then comes the total disappointments and unbelievable care of our loved one.

They are very friendly, loving and attentive, and really seem to want her to feel at home. (They've also been super supportive to me as I struggle to deal with my loved one's negative attitude at times...they listen so well and have offered some solid ideas and suggestions!)

I would recommend you check the community out to see if it is a good fit for your loved one. We have been pleased with the community overall. There have been times that some of my loved one's belongings have gone missing; however, the community was able to find the missing items. My loved one doesn't always care for the food offered. There are three meals a day served to the residents plus two snacks. My loved one is safe and well cared for here. The community has hospice available on site for the residents that need it. This has been a terrific bonus for my loved one and family, as there are extra services for my loved one available.

For most people it is an easy location to get to. The care that she received was very good as well. I would recommend Richland Place to others.

Richland Place has been a game changer for our family. The care and concern from EVERYONE on the staff has been touching and overwhelmingly positive as we moved my mother into the community. They have listened to us, shared their wisdom, and treated my mother as a valuable individual. I can't say enough great things about Richland Place.

We decided on Richland Place because I liked that it felt more like a home rather than a hospital setting. The staff members were all awesome - very friendly and helpful. It appeared that they were short staffed just like everyone else now a days. She loved it here and was always happy and smiling. I would tell others to make sure to find places closer to home so it is easier to stop in and visit. Make sure to be practice and be an advocate for your loved ones.

Richland Place has been a good experience. The staff are really good; they work specifically and only with clients who have Alzheimer's, and they are trained to do that. In other facilities they sort of mix people who aren't trained with those who are, and it's been a problem. Here, they are all trained in dementia related issues.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
