Overall I thought The Arbors did a good job taking care of my loved one. It was a nice looking place, and the staff all seemed very friendly. I think they probably could have had more staff on hand, however. The food also could have used some improvement.

I think there are enough activities. My loved one was only there for about a month. The staff was really nice. They were very concerned and kind. My dad seemed to like the food. When my dad fell though, they found him by the dining room and it was an witnessed fall. It might be a good idea for them to have cameras to witness falls. They did good with contacting us and getting him help.

Very impressed with the staff, living quarters and overall condition of the building. Cost is reasonable. Close to home. I believe I will look at other places just for comparison. If other homes are comparable I would choose this one just because of the surrounding neighborhood. Love it.

The best thing about Woodlands of Middletown is the staff, from the Director of Marketing (Paula) to the folks who clean the rooms, they are consistently up beat, courteous, helpful and most of all attentive to my mother.

My mom seems to like The Woodlands. They have been very helpful in giving us contact information for expediting getting help from the VA for mom. They've helped mom get acquainted with other residents. They've made a special effort to let her know of things going on so that she can join in. We are happy with all their efforts.

The entire staff here has been very helpful and accommodating. Of course everyone is very nice. I love how this building sits in a residential neighborhood, is very quiet, yet convenient. The tower is such a bright spot. I love the outdoor area that's so accessible to the tenants. I love the ease of entry to the memory care unit. My Mother's apartment is spacious and nice. The common areas are nice as well. I think my Mom will be comfortable here. I know I am. The cost was just about what I expected. If you don't see a 5 star rating on a category, it's because I will need more time to assess those areas.

It's hard for me to feel comfortable about my answer, when I did research of various places they all seemed to be on the same level, you don't knwo what questions to ask, you just see the facade. They have activities everyday, throughout the day, the quality of them I don't know and mom is one of those that isn't a joiner but they try to get her to participate. On the positive side, the staff is very good, pretty much anything you ask they're willing to do and they genuinely care about my mother. I'm sure with most places the 1:12 ratio is never enough but mom isn't one of those who needs a lot of care. The management, meaning the director of care services and the head nurse, both are very willing to listen to any issues that are presented and try to follow up and correct them. The issues that are there I'm sure are the same as anywhere else, timeliness of the laundry.. things like that. It really had the wow factor when we walked in, it's a gorgeous property and community. People looked like they were well cared for, the dining room was abuzz with conversation and I was hoping it would kind of rub off on mom, it was just those kinds of things, little extra wow factors.

Harbor Court Assisted Living facility is a good fit for my mother. The staff is pleasant, eager to help and cheerful. Staff members actively engage with my mother and other residents. The facility is clean, kept up and the staff is open to requests for necessary updates. Having eaten with my mother, I know the food is tasty and well prepared. The staff in the dining area get to know the residents and provide food to accommodate the dietary restrictions. The primary contact for Harbor Court is friendly AND involved with the residents. Our decision to choose Harbor Court was influenced a great deal by the input and compassion of Kathi Greco.

Liked the place very much, although it seemed a bit dark. Staff was great. Price was good.

Nice, but price was similar to Independence Village with a smaller apartment.

I didn't actually see anything as the site won't be open till probably the fall, but it sounds very different, actually. their philosophy is to "bring the outside in". it is supposed to give the feel of a neighborhood-a library, an ice cream shop,a pharmacy,living spaces that are actually small apartments. It is only a 15 minute drive from where they live now. My rating is based just on what I heard.

This one will be on our list for my parents to visit. Only downside was that it is an older building and not as much common area as some of the newer facilities.

The facility was clean and the caregivers were very nice including the maintenance dept. The issue we had was the dr had quit as we were moving in and we did not know this. I was also was told that the community was having financial issues. The staff was very nice and took good care of my mom. I would definitely recommend this community to others if you make sure the financial issues are taken care of.

The apartment that we selected was a 2 bedroom with 2 bath and full kitchen which my uncle loves. Many of the people there are wonderful. On the down side, he has pushed his button due to falls and illness and it took 30 minutes for anyone to respond (more than once).

I chose this facility for my husband because he could have freedom to move around the facility and Ho into the garden and still be in a safe locked facility. The memory care unit staff do not force anyone to participate in activities they do not want to. They can get up in the morning and go to bed at night when they want to not at set times. My husband is taken care of, showered, dressed, and has meals in a lovely dining room. He has a primary care doctor who visits the facility weekly who oversees his medications and general health. I would like to see the carpets in rooms and halls kept stain free. The most frustrating aspect is that his clothes keep getting lost. His shoes I know he takes off and they are usually found, however new shirts and sweatpants have disappeared the week they were taken. All of his things need to be tailored because of his size so losing the clothes gets expensive.

Overall I think Harbor Court is a nice place, in terms of the facility itself and the level of care that they provide. It is clean and well kept, the caregivers are friendly, and they provide a good level of care for the price. However, there are also some things I think they need to work on. I've had a lot of difficulty in regards to communication. My loved one fell in the middle of the night, which required a hospital trip, they in a 12 hour period they only attempted to contact me once, and only on one of the emergency numbers they had. Also I believe they could be a bit more thorough with their assessment process, as they originally had us place my loved one in their assisted living section before moving her into memory care a few days later.

Minor problems that were quickly resolved. Very friendly and cooperative.
