If price is an issue this facility is the least expensive I found. It's my first experience so I have nothing to compare it to. My mother's health seems good I have hospice visiting her so that helps.

Menu needs expanding. They need a higher staff to resident ratio. Activities lack imagination.

My sister was a resident. Most of the staff were very impersonal. Whenever I called or asked questions in person, no one seemed to know the answers, they never got back to me and I never was able to speak to the resident doctor after several attempts. The final week she was there, we had Hospice for her and their services were excellent. They updated us with phone calls. When she passed away, they called to offer condolences. They sent us letters and even attended the funeral service. However, no one from Symphony Manor called or contacted us to express their condolences. The last week of her life, her dirty clothes piled up in the hamper and were never washed, even though we requested this several times and they assured us it would be done. When we went back to pick up her belongings, some of the staff didn't even know she had passed.

Based on the experience our family has had with Symphony Manor of Feasterville, and the staff tries hard with activities which is good. I do not receive any updates. For [fee removed] a month pay additional for diapers ?

I toured Rocky River Village, but they left a poor first impression. the person I met with and who showed us around was really nice. the rooms were nice as well. during our visit I noticed that the main (big) elevator was broken, so there were many people waiting on the smaller elevator. we chose another community because Rocky Village didn't give that warm and welcoming vibe we were looking for. our time there was underwhelming and it didn't give us that homey feeling.

This was a good community when my loved one first moved in. They have gone through some staffing changes and since then things have declined. They do not offer food options and the food they serve is not good. There were days my loved one did not receive their lunch. There are a few caregivers there that are trying their best to continue to give great care. The community and the rooms could be cleaner. The executive director was not very approachable.

This is a very beautiful community. It is on the high end of things. The staff was very nice to us. The only thing that upset me and turned me off was that we needed assisted living and they did not offer that. Even though we told them that, that it what we wanted. i feel like I wasted my time.

They "act" so nice when you go check the place out. Completely cater to you and tell you what you want to hear! Promise you so many things..... Once your loved one moves in and is settled you don't hear back from them. They hardly EVER return your calls. The call buttons are a big JOKE!!! the aides/and some Nurses are ALWAYS sitting in the hallways on their phones. Never held accountable for what they do or DO NOT do with the residents. This place should be shut down or at least investigated by the state!!! The aides and nurses need educated. They do not care about these people and its just plain sad to see. And It doesn't seem like the administrator cares much either. I feel so bad for some of these residents. The only ones that seem to be OK are the independent living residents. I have witnessed so many laying on the floor calling for help in the hallways or their rooms. Its awful! PLEASE do your loved ones a favor and stay away from this place! I wish we would have. :(

(Memory care) Always short staffs. Too many new untrained employees comes in and goes. 98% aides don’t smile. Her diapers 1/2 of the time were soaked wet. Her bed were made with wet sheet. I’ve reported so many times. Things went great for two weeks then back to old ways. Dining always sucks! Long waiting and cold food. In [date removed], hospital called and asked info about my mom. I was confused. Hospital told me she was admitted “yesterday” due to pneumonia. She had also irregular heart & UTI. I was furious cause I wasn’t informed by [name removed]. I called co-director [name removed]. She said nurse did call me. I told her no she didn’t call me or my brother. We argued and as I was just about to hang up I heard her saying I don’t give a rats ass. I spoke with director’s boss and higher. Nothing but a slap on her wrist. I had my mother’s belongings removed because she wasn’t ever to go back there. My mother passed away at the hospital. Symphony Manor never call to say sorry for the loss of my mom
The facility itself is almost always clean with exception of the daily garbage pile up outside. The resident rooms don’t get cleaned on a daily basis by housekeeping so the responsibility itself often gets tossed onto the caregivers. I wouldn’t trust this facility!!! I feel so awful for the residents because the families pay so much for their loved ones to stay here but nobody receives top notch quality care. The facility is short when it comes to caregivers so residents are often [removed]. Furthermore because caregivers are understaffed the ones that do exist are extremely overworked. They get rid of the good caregivers and allow those breaking and bending the rules to remain. The residents DO NOT get changed every 2 hours as the state recommends and as a result residents develop skin conditions. Nobody is repositioned every 1-2 hours either so bedsores often form. The caregivers do not always bathe the residents especially the ones with dementia or alzheimer’s (hint: the residents with these sort of conditions often don’t remember whether they’ve received a bath or not). You come here thinking everything is great however reality is that the employees put on a show. You’re given a tour but what you don’t know is they do that so they can try to convince you to have your loved one stay there. They’ll tell you everything you want to hear but leave all the bad out. The activities are none to existent because residents themselves often are left sitting around with nothing to do. Yes, true residents go out on field trips (at the expense of the residents family) but those homebound who can’t leave the facility are left untouched with not much to do. This facility isn’t true assisted living. It’s more of a nursing home with the type of residents who reside here. The sad reality is those requiring memory care aren’t receiving any. Sadly enough I’ve witnessed residents walk out because this facility isn’t locked down and those with some level of dementia or alzheimer’s have the ability to wonder about as they please.

We had toured this community really like it. The case worker and social worked had met with my mother in law and had evaluated her. We were all set to move in we had already made the deposit then 48 hours before we were ready to go we were told they would not accept her. They claim she was not going to fit the medical guidelines to accept her. I just felt that we were misled and lied to. I would never recommend this community

Many of the staff are great but they are so short staff that I wouldn't put anyone who needs care there. I thought [name removed], Management, was on the look out. She had such a great speech. But that is all it was. She made promises that she couldn't keep. They neglected my mom. They wouldn't allow me to step in to care for her. Choose a place that will allow you to apart of the care team. A facility that will not allow you is the first sign that there is a problem. [name removed] will tell you she is walking in your shoes, If she is, it not the same shoes I was walking in.

This place requires an evaluation prior to move in. Moved mom in and 2 weeks later was told that they could not care for my mother and it would be in the best interest to find her a place that would be able to care for the mental aspect and the normal daily activities that are necessary that are best for her. Please ask many, many questions and par-take in the evaluation process. Absolute complete fail. To note, I asked many many questions before-hand and was reassured it was a perfect fit.

This is a horrible place. They do not provide adequate care for residents. Management protects poor quality staff that harass residents. They do not respond to call buttons or emergency pull chains. Their food is poor quality. They do not have enough staff or staff that is not properly trained to deal with their residents.

They do not do what they say. My dad goes for days without getting a shower. He also does not get new clothes every day. When he is not feeling well, no one checks up on him unless we call and complain. Would not recommend it.

If you're looking for a partner in your loved one's care then please avoid this place. They (Management) are very well aware of what their limited responsibilities are and rarely, if ever go the extra mile to assist family members or the residents. If you enjoy getting a return phone call in a reasonable amount of time (24-48 hours) then this is not the place for you or your loved one. If you enjoy a friendly greeting or seeing smiling employees then this is not the place for you or your family member. You are unable to leave voicemail messages for staff or managers and instead have to rely on Receptionist's forwarding your messages and/or concerns. I have dealt with a four different care homes over the past 10 years and the communication at this facility will leave you frustrated.
